Playback
Why are some tracks skipped?
Tracks are skipped when they are cloud-only or unavailable offline. If Clean-only is enabled, explicit tracks are skipped too.
Why did playback start from a different song?
Resume tries to match your last artist, album, and song. If the exact match is unavailable, playback starts from the nearest available track.
Library and Discovery
Why is artist ... not showing up?
Only artists synced to your phone via the Music app will show up in the listing.
Why is album ... not listed under the artist?
Unfortunately, it depends. It may be the artist is a contributor on the album or its not available in the iTunes catalog (like Garth Brooks).
I changed settings but my artist list looks old.
Use Refresh Library in Advanced settings. This rescans local artists and updates cached data.
What does Find New Albums use?
It checks recent release dates from fetched discography data using the lookback window set in Settings.
Permissions
Why can't I see my music?
Discography needs Media Library permission. Open App Settings and grant access, then return to the app.
Does the app upload my library?
No. Discography is designed around your on-device media library and local playback metadata.
Editing and Tips
Some of the data for my music is incorrect, can I change it?
To change data for your music you will need to use the Apple Music app on Mac OS or Windows. Music data cannot be changed in iOS.
How do I hide artists or albums?
On Home, swipe an artist row to hide it. In an artist discography, swipe a release to hide or unhide it.
